HSC- Equivalent exam starts today

Dhaka Bureau: The Higher Secondary (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2022 are starting from today across the country. A total of 12 lakh 3 thousand 407 candidates are expected to participate in this examination under the 11 education boards of the country. Exam timings are fixed from 11 am to 1 pm to avoid traffic jam. Due to the corona pandemic, the exam subjects, marks and time have been reduced somewhat. The Ministry of Education has issued instructions on Saturday (November 5) with the aim of completing the question paper leak in a rumour-free, fake, fair and positive environment.

Meanwhile, the education boards have taken special measures for the students of the higher secondary examination, which is about to start under alarming conditions due to the outbreak of dengue. The president of the inter-education board coordination sub-committee Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar said that instructions have been given to take separate measures for the examinees affected by dengue. On the other hand, the Ministry of Education has sent a letter to the Electricity Department to prevent load shedding during the examination.

According to the exam instructions, you have to enter the center 30 minutes before the start of the exam. No one else can use mobile phones or unauthorized electronic devices in the examination center except the officer-in-charge. Strict legal action will be taken against the person or group of persons creating rumors of question paper leak. No one other than the person concerned with the examination (such as the examinee, room invigilator, center inspection team of the Ministry, center inspection team of the Board, district administration and upazila administration inspection team, member of the law enforcement agency responsible for security) will be allowed to enter the center. The question set code will be announced 25 minutes before the start of the exam.

Dhaka Education Board Chairman Tapan Sarkar said about the latest preparation of the exam, it will not be possible to leak questions. More vigilance is being done in question verification and distribution. Field officials have been alerted. Exam candidates should not be affected by the question leak rumours- He said that before the exam, a clique tries to spread question leak rumors for financial gain.

This year the total number of candidates in 11 boards is 12 lakh 3 thousand 407. Among them 6 lakh 22 thousand 796 male students and 5 lakh 80 thousand 611 female students. Compared to 2021, the number of examinees has decreased by 1 lakh 96 thousand 283. The examination will be held at 2,649 centers of 9,181 institutions. Total centers increased by 28 and institutes decreased by 2. Earlier, it has been announced that all coaching centers across the country will be closed from November 3 to December 14 to ensure that the examination papers are free from leaks, rumours, and fakes.
