Own Correspondent: A journalist from Chandnaish, Chittagong, has complained that he was beaten and thrown from the second floor of the building for publishing the news about cutting soil in the mountains.
The journalist named Ayub Miyaji (34) is currently undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. He is a resident of Jamijuri village, Ward No. 8 of Dohazari Municipality. Besides, he is the Chandanish correspondent of The Daily Janvani and The Crime.
This incident of torture happened on Tuesday (April 4) around 4 p.m. at his business in Dohazari, Chandanish, and Chittagong.
The family of the injured, local sand and soil traders, Pahar Kheko, Md. Alauddin, and Mohammad Farooq threatened him a few days ago, according to their complaints. After that, the incident of beating and throwing from the second floor took place.
Ayub said that he was worried about the safety of his life after the attack. He said, The attackers are threatening to kill me. threats to attack my brother too.
Chandnaish Police Station, OC Anwar Hossain said Ayyub’s father, Abdus Sukkur, has filed a case naming two people and accusing eight others. The case is being investigated.
However, until the last news, the police informed about the arrest of one person involved in the incident.
According to the locals, Journalist Miyaji has a computer training center at RK Plaza, Dohazari Railway Station Road, and Chittagong Cox’s Bazar Road. Around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 to 12 people, including Alauddin and Farooq, entered with native weapons. A woman was also with them. The attackers continued to beat journalist Miyaji, forcing him to hide himself, saying that he misbehaved with the woman. At one stage, he was thrown from the second floor.
