Dhaka Bureau: The 12th National Assembly elections are not being held using electronic voting machines (EVMs). In this case, voting will be held in 300 seats using ballot papers. The decision was taken at the 17th meeting of the Election Commission, held on Monday, April 3, in the conference room of the election building in Agargaon, the capital.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal presided over the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the EC Secretary gave details in the press conference. Jahangir Alam.

The EC Secretary said that due to a lack of political consensus and the lack of necessary funds, the Commission has decided to vote on ballot papers for all 300 seats.
