Kushtia Correspondent: Instead of a fish, a huge crocodile was caught in the fishing net in the Padma river near Hardinge Bridge in Bheramara, Kushtia. A huge crocodile got stuck in the net of fisherman Abul Kalam Azad in the old ferry ghat area of Padma river around 7 pm on Friday. Thinking it was a big fish, he pulled the crocodile up. Later he realizes that it is not a fish but a dangerous crocodile. With the help of local people, they immediately caught the crocodile. Residents inform upazila administration and forest department. The crocodile was released in the Padma river around 9:30 pm.
Asaduzzaman Kochi, UP member of Bheramara Bahirchar Union Parishad, said that fisherman Abul Kalam Azad went to fish in the Padma river like every day. Pulling the net, he feels that something big is trapped. Thinking like this, he was pulling the net very carefully. Later he saw a huge crocodile instead of a fish. At that time, he carefully took control of the crocodile and started a riot by calling the crocodile. Hundreds of people throng the Padma River to see crocodiles.
Range Officer of Bheramara Upazila Forest Division Zahidul Islam, Bahirchar Union Parishad Chairman Alhaj Roshan Ara, UP Member Asaduzzaman Kochi, Bheramara Thana SI Rabiul Awal and others were present during the release.
Zahidul Islam, Range Officer of Bheramara Forest Division, said that he went to the spot after receiving the news that the crocodile had been caught. After talking to senior officials, the crocodile was released in the Padma river at around 9:30 pm on Friday.
