Kushtia representative: The people saved the lives of women and children who went to self-immolation in Kushtia’s Veramara. On Friday, Bheramara handed over the women and children to their guardians. According to local sources, a woman tried to commit suicide by standing in front of a moving train with her child at Bheramara railway station on Thursday night.
At that time, passengers and nearby people near the railway station saw the incident and quickly rushed to remove him from the railway line. Then the local people handed over the woman to Bheramara police station.
Officer-in-charge of Bheramara police station Golam Mostafa said that Jewel Mia’s wife Jasmine Khatun of Kshemirdiar Baruichra village of Bheramara upazila decided to commit suicide out of pride on her husband. A woman standing in front of the inter-city Sagardari Express train on the Up Line bound for Rajshahi was seen by the kind-hearted people risking her life and pulled her from the moving train. In this way, the woman saves her child’s life.
According to the information given by the woman, her husband was summoned to the police station. After that, the woman handed over her baby to her husband with necessary orders and instructions. During the police interrogation, she said that she took the decision to commit suicide out of spite for her husband.
