Motorcyclist killed in 2 bus collisions, crowd sets itself on fire

Dhaka Bureau: A motorcyclist was killed in a bus accident in Savar’s Ashulia. The name of the deceased is Mehdi Hasan (25). He reportedly worked as an electrician in the Ghoshbagh area of Ashulia. The accident took place in front of Jirabo Bengal Plastic Factory on Bypail-Abdullahpur Road at around 7 a.m. on Sunday (April 2).
 
The angry crowd set fire to two buses named Alinur Paribahan. On receiving information, two units of the Jirabo Fire Service of Ashulia reached the spot and managed to bring the fire under control.

Locals said that two buses from Alinur Paribahan were going to Abdullahpur from Dhaka. The two buses were pushing each other and trying to overtake. At this time, the motorcycle rider hit Mehdi with a bus. He was killed on the spot. Later, the agitated crowd set fire to the two buses. On receiving information, two units of the Jirabo Fire Service reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

Ashulia Thana, a police sub-inspector (SI), said Masud said that the body of the dead youth has been recovered. At the same time, two buses have also been removed from the road.
