Due to war we have to continue using reserves: PM

Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the price of everything is increasing due to war. We have to use our reserves, it’s for people. Other countries of the world are doing the same. I urge everyone to be frugal.

The Prime Minister said this while attending the function organized on the occasion of the 51st National Cooperative Day at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Saturday (November 5) as the chief guest. The head of government joined the program virtually from Ganobhaban.

In the event, the Prime Minister called upon the youth of the country to organize activities by forming cooperatives to bring the country together in addition to increasing food production.

He said, our youth should come forward. If the youth community can come forward and carry out the activities through cooperatives of the entire village and people, then we can go a long way. Because everyone will have a responsibility.

Sheikh Hasina said that all countries are struggling today due to inflation, they have to use everyone’s reserves. We also have to do it and that is for the people of the country.

Pointing out that the government has to buy fertilizers, fuel oil and edible oil at high prices, he reiterated his appeal to everyone to be thrifty and save.

He advised the youth not to run after jobs but to engage in food production such as poultry farming, fish farming and other activities by forming cooperatives.

Referring to the 100 special economic zones established by the government, the head of government said, you (youth society) can set up food processing factories there, which will not only meet the local demand, but it will also be possible to export abroad.

Sheikh Hasina said that the country can achieve the desired economic success through cooperatives. All must work together to overcome the crisis created in the country by the covid-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war as well as sanctions and counter-sanctions.
