Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina awarded the country’s highest civilian honor, the Freedom Award 2023, to nine prominent individuals and one institution.
On Thursday (March 23) morning, in a ceremony held at Osmani Smriti Auditorium in the capital, he presented the award to the winners in recognition of their glorious and successful contribution at the national level.
The people who received the award are freedom fighter Colonel (ret.) Samsul Alam, late Lt. AG Mohammad Khurshid, Shahid Khawaja Nizamuddin Bhuiyan, and Awami League presidium member and former minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury (Maya) Bir Bikram.
Apart from this, the late Dr. Muhammad Moinuddin Ahmed (Salim Al Din), Holy Mohan Dey in culture, ASM Rakibul Hasan in sports, Begum Nadira Jahan (Surma Zahid) in research and training, and Dr. Ferdowsi Qadri And the organization nominated for the award is the Directorate of Fire Service and Civil Defense.
