After the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Baitul Mukarram Islamic Foundation meeting on Wednesday evening, State Minister of Religion and President of the National Moon Sighting Committee Md. Faridul Haque Khan confirmed this information.
In the meeting, the State Minister of Religion said that according to the information received from all district administrations, the Islamic Foundation head office, divisional and district offices, the Meteorological Department, and the Space Research and Remote Sensing Center, the moon of Ramadan 1444 Hijri was not seen anywhere in Bangladesh in the evening. Today, Thursday, is the 30th day of the month of Shaban. The counting of the month of Ramadan will start tomorrow, Friday. He also said that the holy day of Lailatul Qadr will be celebrated on the night of April 18 (the 26th night of Ramadan). In this case, Tarawi prayer will start after Isha prayer on Thursday night. Muslims will eat sehar on the last night to keep the fast. The last time I heard from Seheri on the first day in Dhaka was 4:39 PM. Iftar time for the first fast on Friday is 6:14.
Incidentally, the Arabic month is either 29 or 30 days long, depending on the calendar. The beginning or end of the month depends on the sighting of the moon. As the moon was not seen last Tuesday, Ramadan is starting on Thursday in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia.
