Skeletons recovered from a barren hill forest in Satkania

Sukant Bikash Dhar, Satkania: The Thana police recovered the skeleton of a man from the barren hill forest in Satkania. The skeleton was recovered from the bottomless hilly forest at the end of the Godachari canal at the end of Ward No. 5 of Madarsha Union of the upazila on Tuesday morning.

Police Inspector (Investigation) of Satkania Police Station Abul Kalam said that a group of policemen from the police station conducted an operation to recover the skeleton at around 3 p.m. on Monday. The skeleton was recovered on Tuesday morning by going to the hilly forest, which is about 10 to 12 km from the plain.

Abul Kalam also said that there is an elephant road next to the skeleton, and elephant feces have also been seen. No settlement was seen in this forest. The person is believed to have died in an elephant attack 20–25 days ago.

Satkania Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Yasir Arafat said some torn clothes and an ID card were found next to the skeleton. The card contains the address of Zafrabad village, in Bailatli union, Chandanish upazila, Chittagong district. His name is Russell Nath, and his father’s name is Ajit Kumar. Verifying that the address is correct The skeleton has been sent to Chamek Hospital for an autopsy. A wrongful death case has been registered at the police station.
