Satkania Correspondent: Satkania Thana police arrested a Shibir cadre named Jamshedul Karim Chowdhury on the basis of secret information. He was arrested from Nabi’s shop in Hangramukh Bazar of Nalua Union of the upazila last Sunday night. SI Jahangir Alam of the Dhemsha Investigation Center admitted the matter. Jamshed is the son of Abu Bakr of North Kanchana Chowdhury.
According to local and police sources, terrorist activities have increased in the East Gatiadenga area in recent times. As an outsider cadre, Jamshed and his accomplices kept the entire area in turmoil, fueled by local influencers. There have been several incidents of beatings and shootings. So the administration is very active in arresting the troublemakers and bringing them under the law. In this context, Jamshed was arrested on the basis of secret information.
Locals complain that although his house is in Kanchana, recently, on the night of August 13 last year, Nalua Union Volunteer League President Md. Jamshed was involved in the firing incident at Mohiuddin’s house.
On February 4, Satkania Thana Police of Hangarmukh Baj held discussions with the locals to improve the law and order situation. In that meeting, OC Yasir mentioned the name of Jamshed, a violent terrorist from the Arafat camp, and blamed external terrorists for creating chaos in the area.
The Satkania police station officer-in-charge (OC), Yasir Arafat, said camp cadre Jamshed has been arrested. Steps are being taken to bring him under the law. Jamshed has been sent to Hajj through the legal process. Remand will be sought for the recovery of illegal weapons.
