Nurul Islam: The police arrested one person named Md. Sakib Hossain (28), who had 10,000 pieces of Yaba in Lohagara, South Chittagong. One private car used in yaba smuggling was seized at that time.
On Sunday, March 12, at quarter past 11 in the morning, the person along with Yaba was arrested on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in the Jangailla area of Chunti Union of Lohagara Upazila. Detainee Md. Sakib Hossain is the son of deceased Nurul Islam, a resident of Ward No. 1 of Mohammadpur Union of Chatkhil Upazila of Noakhali.
Officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station Atiqur Rahman said that based on secret information, a police team including SI Mahfuzur Rahman stopped the private car heading towards Chittagong city. After searching, these Yaba were brought out.
During the interrogation by the police, the detained person said that these yaba were brought to Dhaka by way of Cox’s Bazar. In this regard, a case has been registered under the Narcotics Control Act at the Lohagara police station.
