Md. Ayub Miyaji, Chandanaish: Darogakata-Lalutia-Masterghona-Chakidarpari-Diakul is the route of about 10 lakh people from East Dohazari multipurpose road under the jurisdiction of Dohazari municipality of Chandanaish upazila of Chittagong.
CNG drivers have been obstructing the movement of autorickshaws on this road for a long time. Auto drivers go for settlement through arbitration meetings at different places, but instead they are harassed, beaten, and tortured.
This human chain was organized by auto rickshaw workers, van driver workers, and local residents in front of Diakul Ashram Gate at around 12 a.m. on Friday, March 10, to express their demands on the occasion of the arrival of the MP as the poor and helpless drivers did not get any solution anywhere.
In this case, when the agitators demanded to speak to Alhaj Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Member of Parliament for Chittagong-14 Constituency, while passing through the road, he would not be able to obstruct the movement of all types of vehicles on the village road. Because the road belongs to the people, all vehicles will be able to move as before.
He gave this assurance that there would be no bagat. At the end of the human chain, the protestors were filled with joy, and at one point they ended the human chain by expressing their cooperation and gratitude towards the implementation of MP Nazrul Islam’s promise. At this time, Nazim Uddin, a member of Ward No. 9 of the defunct Dohazari Union Parishad, expressed his solidarity.
