Chakaria Correspondent: Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a pickup and a Laguna in Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria. Two more people were injured in this incident.
The accident took place on Saturday (March 4) around 9:30 a.m. in the Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong Highway, North Harbang, Aziznagar, Jilani Pond area.
The deceased are Nazrul Islam (34), son of Janu Mia of Karammuhuri Para village in Harbang Union of Laguna Yatri Chakaria Upazila, and Abul Bacher, son of North Harbang Kalatali area. Hamid Ullah (29).
Police and witnesses said that a pickup van was returning from Chittagong to Cox’s Bazar on Saturday morning. At around 9:30 a.m. on the highway, there was a head-on collision with a Laguna vehicle coming from the opposite direction, near the Zilla Parishad Gate in North Harbang Aziznagar of Chakaria Upazila. Two Laguna passengers were killed on the spot.
Chiringa Highway Police Station, OC Eamon Chowdhury said two bodies were recovered from the scene and taken to the Chakaria Upazila Health Complex. Will be sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The vehicles involved in the accident have been taken into the custody of the Highway Police.
