International Desk: The Saudi government has simplified the process of performing the holy umrah. Pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia can perform Umrah as many times as they want. However, it is mandatory to fix the date of performing Umrah in advance and take permission from the concerned authorities, said the authorities. This information was reported by Gulf News about the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
It is said that Umrah can be performed on any of the three types of visas: travel, tourism, or labor. Along with that, the travel route can also be changed when leaving Saudi Arabia. To take advantage of this opportunity, the Umrah permit must specify the time of stay in Makkah’s Masjidul Haram, the ministry said.
Saudi Arabia has extended facilities for Muslims wishing to perform Umrah. You can go to Saudi Arabia with various visas, including personal and tourist, and perform Umrah through e-registration, as well as the pilgrimage of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in Madinah.
According to the report, Saudi Arabia has increased the duration of the Umrah visa from 30 days to 90 days. Visa holders can return by sea, land, and air, as well as through any airport.
Moreover, the Saudi authorities are making the process of Umrah easier. Saudi citizens are allowed to invite foreign Muslims to perform Umrah and apply for visas for them.
Besides, Saudi Arabia has introduced health insurance for Umrah pilgrims. According to the new rules, from now on, Umrah pilgrims, both Saudi nationals and foreigners, can get health insurance up to a maximum of one lakh riyals. In Bangladeshi currency, that is equal to 28 lakh rupees.
According to the report, if an insured passenger falls ill while performing Umrah, the insurance money will cover the extension of his visa period, hospital admission, and medical expenses. Apart from this, the cost of medicines and other medical supplies for the patient’s treatment will also be met. The maximum daily fare for medical beds for insured passengers will be 600 Riyals.
