Md. Ayub Miyaji, Chandnaish: The 33rd Upazila Hospital Management Committee meeting was held at Dohazari 31-bed hospital on February 18 (Saturday), noon-12 noon in Chandnaish, Chittagong. Freedom fighter Alhaj Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Member of Parliament of Chittagong-14 Constituency presided over the meeting.
Abdul Jabbar Chowdhury, member secretary of the committee and upazila chairman, health and family planning officer Dr. were also present in this meeting. Md. Fazlul Karim, members respectively Mayor Mahbubul Alam (Khoka), executive officer Mahmuda Begum, police station in-charge Anwar Hossain, resident medical officer of Chandnaish Dr. Abu Rashed Md. Nuruddin, RMO of Dohazari, Dr. Ahmed Tanjimul Islam, family planning officer Dr. Kazi Lamiya Sharmin, freedom fighter commander Zafar Ali Hiru, press club president Ed. Md. Delwar Hossain, Nursing Supervisor Krishna Bara and Health Inspector Pupul Chowdhury.
Among others, Lokman Hakim, Nawab Ali, Abdullah Al Noman Beg, Manchur Ali Faisal, Dr. Sheikh Sadi, Subrata Bara, Priyatosh Chakraborty Babu, Osman Ali Bhuttu, Mintu, Borhan Uddin Giffari, journalist Md. Various media workers including Ershad, Jahangir Alam, Arman, Ershadur Rahman Sumon, Maulana Salim and Sayem etc.
In the meeting, several important decisions were taken by discussing the various problems of the hospital, the appointment of two employees to improve the quality of health services and the provision of X-ray machines and services.
After that, the MP spoke to the patients under treatment in the hospital to inquire about them. He promised to release funds from the MP’s personal funds to purchase the necessary medical supplies. On the other hand, Ariful Islam, the son of Muslim Mia, a diabetic patient of East Satbaria, complained that the patient was not admitted to the resident chamber of the emergency department doctor at night unless he paid Tk 300 for the treatment fee. The MP directed the Health and Family Planning Officer to conduct an immediate inquiry into the allegations.
