Dhaka Bureau: Four out of the nine stations of the metro rail were opened for passengers, including Uttara Center station in the capital. The station opened to the public at 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 18. Like other stations, passengers can travel by metro rail from this station from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), said that Uttara Center station was inaugurated on Saturday without any formality. The plan is to open all stations in a phased manner by March.
Earlier, Metrorail started from Uttara (Diabari) and Agargaon stations. Later, Pallavi station was opened. The Uttara Uttara station has recently opened as the fourth metro rail station.
