An office was also opened in the Shiroil Colony area of the city to conduct this program. On Tuesday, February 14, the lock was seen hanging in that office. The victims are disoriented in this incident.
The victims said that they were cheated by using that “Chinese app” called “E-Movie.” An unidentified man named “Manik” started promoting the app in the city’s Shiroil Colony area on the city’s 3.50 lanes. An office was also opened there in the name of that app. The campaign was to open an account in that app with a minimum of two thousand rupees.If you buy movie tickets for different countries with that money, dollars are immediately added as profit. But money had to be converted into dollars to buy tickets.
When money is sent to a specific number through BBash or cash, it is shown in dollars in the user’s account number. But the more money one opens the account with, the more the profit, so a similar campaign was carried out. Besides, if you open someone else’s account, the dollar will be added to your account.
Since the middle of October, in different villages of Rajshahi, this app has created a storm among the youth. In order to become rich overnight without doing any work, the victims opened high-dollar accounts and joined the race to become rich overnight.
According to the victims, some of the villagers sell their motorcycles, cattle, and land and open accounts on the app.Many of those who opened accounts in the first place have accumulated a lot of money by cashing out their deposits in cash or in stock. A few days ago, the victims were informed by Manik’s office, which is involved in this business, that the number of users of this app in Rajshahi city has exceeded two thousand. The victims saw the lock hanging on the door of that office in the Shiroil Colony area of the city on February 14.
Himel, a youth from the suburbs of the victim city, said that a few weeks ago, the person named Manik opened an account with him for 12 thousand taka. Dollars were brought in with him.Manik said that the money can be withdrawn on February 12. But the next day, everyone’s account is empty. After that, a person named “Moo Ji Lee” sent a message to everyone’s mobile phone and said, “If you deposit 30 percent of the money deposited, you can withdraw money from the account with profit.”
Himel said that after receiving this message, they all understood the deception.
Fahim, another victim from the same area, said that one of his two accounts had deposits of $111 and the other $95. The account has been empty since Monday. Manik is nowhere to be found; his mobile is switched off. No one knows where Manik’s house is.
