Arsa’s leader was arrested while going to Jeddah

Own Correspondent: A Rohingya leader accused of murder was arrested while traveling to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, using a Bangladeshi passport. Arrested Asadullah is the leader of the Arakan Rohingya Solidarity Alliance (Arsa), a separatist organization in Myanmar.The immigration police arrested him from inside the Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport around 7 p.m. on Friday and handed him over to the city intelligence police.

The City Detective Police handed him over to the Ukhia Police Station of Cox’s Bazar on Saturday morning. Police said that the arrested Asadullah is a resident of the Thankhali refugee camp under the Ukhia police station in Cox’s Bazar. He was going to Saudi Arabia on the “BG-135” flight of Bangladesh Biman. He was handed over to the Ukhia police station early on Saturday morning.

According to airport sources, the BG-135 flight was going to Jeddah. The flight was scheduled to depart Shah Amanat Airport for Jeddah around 7 p.m. on Friday. But the flight left for Jeddah about 22 minutes late at 7:07 p.m. According to immigration police sources, that flight’s passenger was Asadullah.He was detained on a tip-off while collecting the boarding pass for the plane around 6 p.m. Later, he was handed over to the detective police.

ATM Shaheen Ahmed, the Special Superintendent of Police assigned to Shah Amanat Airport, said that on the basis of a case, a person named Asadullah was detained while going abroad. He was later handed over to CMP’s detective police. Asadullah collected his boarding pass as a passenger on a flight (BG-135) bound for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The flight was scheduled to leave the airport at 7:30 p.m. We arrested him before that. Asadullah is the accused in a murder case at Ukhia police station.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (DB-North) Nihad Adnan Taiyan said Asadullah was arrested at the Chittagong airport while traveling abroad using a Bangladeshi passport. After checking the registration of Rohingyas, it was found that he is a resident of Rohingya refugee camp number 12 in Ukhia. A murder case was registered against him on January 9. Asadullah has been arrested for his involvement in various terrorist activities in Rohingya camps. He used to introduce himself as a member of Arsa. He was trying to escape and go abroad. He was handed over to the Ukhia police station on Saturday. His Bangladeshi passport has been confiscated. He said that how he collected this passport is being investigated.
