Last Monday at 4:17 am local time, the worst earthquake of this century hit the Turkey-Syria border region. Hundreds of aftershocks hit after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Some of these were quite powerful.

Losing everything, many are spending the night under the open sky in disaster-prone areas. Severe cold and snow have appeared as a sore spot on the ground. Turkey’s Gaziantep and surrounding areas have been devastated by the earthquake. In addition to the damage to houses, many highways collapsed in the earthquake. The communication system is broken. Due to which the rescue workers are unable to reach the remote areas of Hatay in Turkey and the city of Aleppo in Syria. The number of casualties is increasing due to not being able to start the rescue operation quickly.
As the communication infrastructure has been damaged, it is not possible to reach the affected areas even with relief aid. Residents of these areas are spending extremely inhumane days under the open sky after losing their homes.
