Bangladesh will provide humanitarian aid to earthquake-hit Turkey

Dhaka Bureau: A large number of people have been injured in the terrible earthquake in the Turkey-Syria border region. The government of Bangladesh has asked what kind of humanitarian assistance is needed in Turkeyey-Syria border region. Apart from sending a rescue team to Turkey, Bangladesh will also send an emergency medical support team.

Sehli Sabrin, Director General and Spokesperson of the Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the government is preparing to send an emergency medical support team and a rescue team to Turkey. Bangladesh wants to know what kind of assistance Turkey needs. In view of their requirements, the government is preparing to send two emergency teams.

Foreign Ministry sources said that a medical team will be sent to provide medical assistance to a large number of injured people in the country. Work is underway to determine who will be on this team and what equipment, materials, and medical supplies will be sent. Apart from this, a team of 10 members of the Bangladesh Army and Fire Service is also being sent to assist in the rescue work in case of an earthquake in Turkey. Rescue teams may be sent to Turkey tonight or tomorrow, Wednesday.

Turkey and its neighboring country, Syria, were shaken by an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 on Monday morning. Humanitarian disasters have descended on both countries. The death toll in the two countries has exceeded 5,000. It is feared that this number will exceed 20,000.
