Dhaka Bureau: Satkhira District Awami League Vice President Kazi Erteza Hasan has been arrested in a fraud and cheating case. A team of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) arrested him.
He was arrested from Gulshan 2 area of the capital Dhaka on Tuesday night (November 1). PBI confirmed the fact of the arrest.
In a small message sent to the media, it is said that he was arrested in a case filed by Saiful Islam at Khilkhet police station. The case was filed on January 10 this year. The other accused in this case are Abu Yusuf Abdullah, Riazul Alam and Salim Munsi.
Confirming the matter, PBI Headquarters Additional Superintendent of Police (Legal and Media) Abu Yusuf said that Saiful Islam filed a case against Kazi Erteza in Khilkhet police station of the capital regarding forgery and fraud. Kazi Erteza was arrested in that case. There are three other accused in the chargesheet in the case. They are – Abu Yusuf Abdullah, Riazul Alam and Salim Munshi.
Police sources said that among them, Abu Yusuf and Riazul were arrested earlier. The name of Kazi Erteza Hasan came up during their interrogation. A team of PBIE arrested Kazi Erteza from the office of Gulshan-2 on Tuesday night due to the information obtained during the investigation of the case.
