Allegation of brother-in-law’s death due to beating by brother-in-law, arrest 2

Khagrachari Correspondent: In Khagrachari’s Ramgarh, it has been alleged that the brother-in-law was beaten to death by his brother-in-law. Police arrested two people and recovered the body in this incident on Tuesday (January 25) morning.

On Monday (January 23) around 12:15 AM, the murder took place in the crematorium area of Ward No. 1 of Ramgarh Municipality.

The deceased Deepak Ghosh Munna (38) is the son of Rakhal Chandra Ghosh of the same area.
The arrested are Sagar Tripura (25), brother-in-law of the deceased, son of Tapan Tripura of Sukendraipara, Ramgarh Municipality, and Akash Nandi (24), son of Suman Nandi of Balturamtila area and Sagar’s friend.

Rakhal Chandra Ghosh, the father of the deceased, said that at around 12:15 on Monday night, Sagar Tripura and his friends Akash Nandi, Rubel, Ripru Chai Marma and Babu attacked and kicked Deepak to death near his house in Smasantila area of Ramgarh Municipality. At one point, Deepat fell to the ground after hitting Munna on the back of the head with an iron rod, after which the attackers fled.

Abdul Haque, Councilor of Ward No. 1 of Ramgarh Municipality, said that the deceased Munna and his assailants all drank alcohol and fought while drunk. Later, when the relatives took the injured Munna to the Upazila Health Complex on Tuesday morning, the doctor declared him dead.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Ramgarh Circle. Nazim Uddin said that after getting the news in the morning, he along with the OC of the police station visited the scene. Two people were arrested on suspicion of murder. Initially, it is believed that the murder happened due to a family dispute. However, the police are working to find out the real reason and arrest the others involved in the murder.

OC of the police station. Mizanur Rahman said that the deceased’s father, Rakhal Chandra Ghosh, has filed a murder case at the police station, mentioning the names of five people including Sagar Tripura, the brother-in-law of the deceased Munna, and accusing three unidentified persons.
