The EC Secretary said that the new project of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is not being processed for now. The Planning Commission sent back the project. As a result, the issue of EVM voting in 150 seats in the next 12th National Parliament election is uncertain.
He said that the Planning Commission has informed that the EVM project is not being processed for the time being due to the global situation and financial recession. Preparations are being made with the EVMs we have.
Meanwhile, it is said to have spoken to some officials of the Election Commission, since the new project is not being passed for the time being. Therefore, it will not be possible to use EVMs in 150 seats in the next parliamentary elections.
