Lohagara Correspondent: UP Chairman Zainal Abedin aka Janu Company protested in a press conference about baseless and misinformation in newspapers, online news and channels. This press conference was organized at 11:30 am on Saturday (January 21) in the personal office of the chairman at Chunati Bazaar of the upazila.
In a written statement at the press conference, the chairman said that baseless news and misinformation is being spread in social media, online and print media by making up various fictions involving him and his family members. A self-interested group is working behind the scenes for these false propaganda.
The chairman said that in August 2003, 4 people bought 20 acres of land from Lutfur Rahman alias Lutu Mia, a resident of Chunti. According to purchase, 4 people are occupying the place. In addition, two acres of eighty-two hundred acres were purchased from the record owners Fauzul Kabir and Bashir Ahmad in the said Khatians and Dags. Gardens of fruits, forests and medicinal plants are created by understanding the occupation of the place. In 2018, the garden trees were also sold. At present, the owners are still in possession of the place. After Lutu Mia’s death in 2018, one of her daughters and son-in-law tried to illegally cut trees in the garden. As a result, a Mitch case has been filed against them in the court of Additional District Magistrate Chittagong and a general diary has been filed in Lohagara police station for this wrongful attempt.
In a written statement, the chairman strongly requested all concerned to refrain from misrepresentation in this regard.
The former member of the owner of the place, Mr. Chunti, was present at the press conference with the chairman. Idris, son of Nurul Kabir Saudagar.
