For the promotion of sports, a women’s sports complex has been constructed at a cost of Tk 22.5 crore in Khulna along with a departmental stadium. It is necessary to spread sports to prevent the social values and character degradation that is visible among our young generation today. The mayor today Friday (January 20) night at the Daulatpur Pabla Sabuj Sangh Club ground in Khulna at the annual sports competition prize distribution, cultural program and the conclusion of the fair. Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukdar Abdul Khalek said these things in the speech of the chief guest.
He said that the present government is working sincerely for the promotion of sports. Many people in the world now know Bangladesh for its success in the field of sports. The government has given importance to popular domestic sports besides cricket and football.
President of Pabla Sabuj Sangh Club and Minister of State for Labor and Employment Begum Mannujan Sufian said in the President’s speech on the occasion that there is a good relationship between sports and education. Sports are of immense importance to keep the body and mind healthy. Sports helps the youth to stay away from drugs and immoral activities and teaches discipline and perseverance to the young generation. He also said that after coming to power, this government has distributed free books to the students along with the development of Padma Setu, Roopsasetu, Abu Naser Specialized Hospital, Sheikh Hasina Medical University, schools-college-mosque-madrasas.
