Saghata Correspondent: The police arrested a teacher named Washim Mia in connection with the rape of a ten-year-old Hafizia madrasa student in Saghata, Gaibandha. The teacher was arrested from Chatkalpani Yusuf-Jobeda Hafizia Madrasa and Orphanage in Upazila around 11 am on Saturday.
The detained teacher Washim Mia is the son of Matiar Rahman of Kaichra village in Kamalerpara union of upazila.
Locals said that the victim’s house is in Shimultair village in the east of Bonarpara union of the upazila. He was studying from that madrasa. Madrasa teacher Washim Mia tactfully called the boy to his room around noon on Friday. At that time, the teacher asked the boy to give him some good food. After the matter came to light, the student’s parent lodged a complaint with the police station on Saturday morning.
Rakib Hossain, Inspector of Bonarpara Police Investigation Center in Saghata, said that the accused teacher Washim Mia was arrested from the institution at around 11 am on the basis of the complaint.
