Dhaka Bureau: US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu is coming to Dhaka today Saturday (January 14) on a two-day visit. Foreign Minister during the visit. He will meet AK Abdul Momen and have a bilateral meeting with Foreign Secretary Masood Bin Momen.
According to the US State Department, Donald Lu will discuss strengthening bilateral relations during his visit.
Donald Lu will arrive in Dhaka after a three-day visit to India on Saturday night. He participated in the India-US Forum in Delhi. During his visit to India, Donald Lu discussed with the country’s senior officials the expansion of cooperation in energy, trade, security and human rights protection.
During his visit to Dhaka, he will exchange views with representatives of the Bangladesh government and representatives of civil society. He will discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding economic engagement between the two countries as well as learn about their views and thoughts on labor and human rights.
On September 15, 2021, Donald Lu joined the US State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs as Assistant Secretary. He previously served as the US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and Albania.
