Sukanth Bikas Dhar, Satkania: Barrister Biplab Barua, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Office Secretary of Awami League, said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set a precedent by providing houses to refugees and homeless people besides providing education, treatment and essential food to the people of the country. He has created precedents for the world by developing various infrastructures in the country including construction of Padma bridge, Karnaphuli tunnel and metro rail. Likewise, on the instructions of Bangabandhu’s daughter, blankets are being distributed so that the people of the country do not suffer in winter due to lack of warm clothes.
He said this on the phone during the distribution of blankets among the needy in 17 unions and municipalities of Satkania this morning (Monday). Chittagong South District Awami League General Secretary Mofizur Rahman was the chief guest on the occasion.
Under the chairmanship of Satkania Municipal Mayor Mohammad Zobair and Upazila Chhatra League President Mohammad Ali, advocate Sunil Barua, president of Satkania Lawyers Association, Zilla Parishad member Suraiya Khanam Lilly, Upazila A.League leader Zafar Alam, Rezaul Karim, union chairmen were present in the event. Ochman Ali, Ramzan Ali, Tapas Kanti Dutt, AF Mahbubul Haque Sikder, Abu Saleh, Nasir Uddin Tipu, Jasim Uddin, Riduanul Islam Sumon, Voluntary League leader Irfanur Rahman Sumon, former chairman Monir Ahmad, prominent businessman were present.
