Dhaka Bureau: The 21st session of the 11th National Parliament and the first session of the current year (2023) begins on Thursday (January 5). The session will begin at 4:00 PM in the parliament chamber of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan.
On December 19, President Md. Abdul Hamid convened this session of the National Parliament with the power given in Clause (1) of Article 72 of the Constitution. This information was informed in a press release of the Parliament Secretariat that day.
According to custom, the President will address the Parliament at the beginning of the session. Abdul Hamid. This may be the last speech of the President in the 11th National Assembly.
According to the constitution, elections will be held within 90 days before the end of the term of parliament. According to this, the counting of election time will start this year.
There is a glimpse of the 12th National Assembly elections being held at the end of December this year or in the first week of January next year.
Every year the President addresses the Parliament at the beginning of the first session of the year. After that a vote of thanks was held on the President’s speech and a discussion was held.
Before the commencement of this session of the National Parliament, the duration of the session will be determined in the meeting of the Working Advisory Committee of the Parliament. However, due to the situation of Covid-19, the duration of the session for the last three years is short, but this session may be relatively long.
A few new bills have been introduced in this session and some of the previously introduced bills are said to be likely to pass.
In this session too, the members of Parliament and all those associated with the session of the Parliament have been tested for Covid. If the report is negative, there will be access to the Parliament building.
