Dhaka Bureau: Metrorail shuttle bus service has been launched from Agargaon station in the capital to reach the destination by metro rail at Uttara Uttar station. Those who are coming from Agargaon to Uttara Uttar station by metro rail are mainly the passengers of this metro rail shuttle bus service. Passengers can travel between Diabari, Housebuilding and Abdullahpur in this double decker bus of BRTC.
BRTC has started this service right in front of the exit gate when the passengers get down from the Uttara Uttar Metro Rail station. There is also a counter for boarding these buses. However, apart from the counter, there is an opportunity to collect tickets inside the bus. The minimum fare is 10 taka and the maximum fare is 15 taka. One after the other buses are kept serially under the station. As soon as the passengers arrive, the buses are leaving as soon as the buses are full.
Masum Ahmed, the manager in charge of the ticket counter of BRTC shuttle bus service, said that this bus service is basically so that the passengers coming to the metro rail can get down at the station and go to the desired destination from here. The buses are double decker so the passenger capacity is also high.
Earlier on Wednesday (December 28) with the inauguration of Metrorail, the long-cherished dream of the citizens of the capital was fulfilled as well as a new chapter of the communication system was initiated. Then today (Thursday) the metro rail has been opened for the movement of common people. A long queue of thousands of people was seen below the Uttara Uttara station on the first morning of its opening. On the first day, the metro rail authorities have slowly allowed passengers to enter the station to maintain order in the crowd of so many people.
