Dhaka Bureau: The court has filed a complaint against the managing director (MD) of Evaly, the discussed e-commerce company, Mohammad Russell and Shamima Nasreen, the company’s chairman. A complaint was filed against them in the case of Gulshan Police Station of the capital on the charge of embezzlement of customer’s money. Through this, the formal trial of the case began. The official trial of this case has already started.
On Wednesday (December 28), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mehdi Hasan’s court framed charges against them. At the same time, he fixed February 18 as the date for taking the testimony.
On this day, the accused Russell, detained in prison, was brought to court. However, the accused Shamima Nasreen, who is on bail, did not appear and applied for time through the lawyer. The court rejected his plea and issued an arrest warrant against him. At the same time, in the presence of the accused Russell, the court framed the complaint.
A customer filed the case at Gulshan police station alleging embezzlement of Tk 3 lakh and 10 thousand. After investigating the case, the police filed a charge sheet in the court.
