Dhaka Bureau: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina became the first passenger to buy metro rail ticket. On Wednesday (December 28) at 1:33 p.m., he bought the ticket from ticket counter number 1. Later his younger sister Sheikh Rehana also bought the ticket. The Prime Minister punched the card at 1:37. He went to the platform on the escalator.
The first metro rail has started from Uttara in the capital. Travel about 12 km to Agargaon.
Sheikh Hasina, her younger sister Sheikh Rehana along with 10 family members and people of various professions including war wounded freedom fighters, teachers, minority community members, workers, children and students are her companions on this first metro rail journey.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled a plaque at the playground of C-1 Block of Uttara Sector 15 of the capital at 11:05 a.m. and inaugurated the metro rail. After that, he waved his hand to the leaders and workers in front of the stage and exchanged greetings.
