The head of the UN mission is Sara from Bangladesh

International Desk: The anti-hijab movement in Iran has recently become widespread. And there are allegations that the rights of these participants have been violated. The United Nations has appointed Sara Hossain of Bangladesh to head an independent fact-finding mission to investigate the matter.

The United Nations Human Rights Council said on Twitter that the president of the organization, Federico Villegas, has appointed Sara Hossain of Bangladesh as the head of the mission. Besides, two more have been assigned to the mission. They are Shaheen Sardar Ali of Pakistan and Viviana Kristisevic of Argentina. News Voice of America.

The UN Human Rights Council established an independent, international fact-finding mission last November 24 to thoroughly investigate alleged human rights violations in Iran related to the protests that began on September 16, 2022.

In mid-September, Iran’s morality police arrested Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish Iranian girl. After the arrest, the young woman fell into a coma while in police custody and was taken to the hospital. Mahsa Amini later died while undergoing treatment.

According to media reports, Mahsa Amini was detained by morality police in Tehran for not covering her hair properly. Since his death, massive protests have been going on across Iran.
