Sukanth Bikash Dhar, Satkania: Nana Abdul Jalil (70), who was shocked to hear the news of the rape of his beloved granddaughter, a child class student in Satkania, died of a heart attack today (Thursday) at around seven in the morning. Jalil is the son of deceased Basrat Ali of Ward No. 8 Ganipara Bakkar of Khagria Union. He is a farmer by profession.
Abdul Jalil’s brother-in-law village police Rafiq Ahmad confirmed the matter and told Samakal, “My brother-in-law used to love my granddaughter very much.” He took his granddaughter wherever he went. He was not talking to anyone after hearing the incident of rape. He stopped eating and drinking and sat in a corner of the room crying day and night. Today (Thursday) morning, when he did not wake up and called him, it was found that he was not there anymore. He will be buried in the family graveyard after the Janaza after the Asr prayer on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the child’s mother filed a complaint last Wednesday midnight. A rape case was filed in Satkania police station accusing Yuchup.
Although three days have passed since the incident of rape, the police have not yet arrested the rapist. It has been reported that the rapist is threatening the relatives of the rapist.
In this regard, the cousin of the raped child. Mohsin said, I and our relatives are being asked to settle the matter with money. We are also threatened to kill anyone we know if we do not settle. We will not compromise with anyone on such a heinous matter for our lives.
Satkania Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tarek Mohammad Abdul Hannan said that the victim’s mother filed a case at the police station on Wednesday night with Yuchup as the sole accused. The victim is still undergoing treatment at Chamek Hospital. If recovered, he will be sent to the court to take a statement. We have continued operations at various places to arrest the rapist.
It is to be noted that last Tuesday (December 6) at noon on the way back home after the annual examination, the rapist took the child to a bush on the banks of the Sangu river and escaped.
