20,500 returnees after Hajj; death toll rises to 29

The Crime Desk: The number of pilgrims returning to the country after Hajj is 20,500. Of these, 2,924 came through government means. 17,576 came through private means. This information was confirmed from the Hajj Bulletin on Saturday (June 14).

According to the bulletin, Biman Bangladesh Airlines transported 6,207 of the Hajj pilgrims who returned home. In addition, Saudi Airlines transported 7,873, and Flynas Airlines transported 6,420. The total number of return flights so far is 52. Of these, Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 16 flights. Saudi Airlines operated 20 flights, and Flynas Airlines operated 16 flights.

Meanwhile, 29 people have died in Saudi Arabia so far while performing Hajj from Bangladesh. The death toll was 27 until last Friday. Two more died on Saturday (June 14). Among the deceased, 25 were men and 4 were women.

Incidentally, this year’s Hajj was held on June 5. The first flight for Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia was on April 29, and the last flight for Hajj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia was on May 31. Return Hajj flights will continue until July 10. This year, 87,157 people from Bangladesh performed Hajj.
