The Crime Desk: Today (June 4) is the last working day for government officials and employees before Eid-ul-Azha. The holiday starts from Thursday (June 5). Government employees will have a 10-day holiday until June 14.
Earlier, on May 6, at the meeting of the Advisory Council at the Secretariat, it was decided to give holidays on June 11 and 12 (Wednesday and Thursday) by executive order. In addition, it was decided to keep the office open on two Saturdays before Eid.
As a result of the two-day holiday in the executive order, government employees are getting a total of 10 days of holiday on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
As per the decision of the Advisory Council, on May 7, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification declaring holidays on June 11 and 12 by executive order on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. At the same time, the notification also stated that the office will be open on the weekly holidays of May 17 and 24. Accordingly, the office was open on two Saturdays.
Government offices will be closed from June 5. These offices will reopen on June 15 after the holiday.
Earlier, there were nine consecutive days of holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr from March 28 to April 5. However, the number of holidays for Eid-ul-Adha has increased to 10 days.
