The Crime Desk: The court has ordered the seizure of 38 bank accounts of former Air Chief Marshal Sheikh Abdul Hannan, his wife Tahmida Begum and their son Sheikh Labib Hannan. Currently, their bank accounts have a total deposit of 1 crore 18 lakh 34 thousand 322 taka.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib issued this order on Saturday (May 24). Deputy Director Md. Tanzir Hasib Sarkar filed an application in the court on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
According to the ACC application, former Air Chief Sheikh Abdul Hannan is accused of abuse of power, damage to state funds, accepting bribes, recruitment and trade, embezzlement of money through various irregularities and corruption, and laundering money abroad, as well as acquiring known undeclared assets in his own name and the names of others with vested interests. A three-member investigation team has been formed to properly investigate these allegations.
During the investigation, it was also learned that he and his family members are trying to transfer, transfer or hide the movable and immovable assets related to their interests. If these assets are transferred or transferred, it will be difficult to recover them in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to attach the immovable assets of Sheikh Abdul Hannan and his interested persons and block the movable assets on an urgent basis.
