The Crime Desk: In order to make the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway accident-free during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, BRTA-Roads Division and Highway Police officials have identified 6 highly risky bends. Red flags were immediately installed on these bends to ensure maximum caution by drivers.
On May 20, from 9 am to 7 pm, a team consisting of BRTA Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar Circles, Roads Division Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar, and Highway Police officials inspected the highly risky bends on the highway. During the inspection, the officials installed red flags on the 6 highly risky bends on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway so that drivers can reduce their speed with maximum caution and move vehicles smoothly. The risky bends are, respectively, the Jangalia bend of Lohagara-Chunti, the Hazir Tek bend of Lohagara-Chunti, the bend adjacent to the sweets shop of Lohagara-Chunti, the Bagichar Hat bend of Chandanaish, the Ajmur Hat bend of Patia, and the Tek bend from Phulkoli to Goidala in Patia.
The mentioned inspection team was attended by BRTA Chittagong Division Director (Engineering) Md. Masud Alam, BRTA Cox’s Bazar Circle Assistant Director (Engineering) Uthoinu Chowdhury, BRTA Chattogram Metro Circle-2 Motor Vehicle Inspector Md. Rezwan Shah, Patia Road Division Sub-Divisional Engineer Md. Abdullah Al Noman Parvez, Cox’s Bazar Road Division Sub-Divisional Engineer Rahat Alam, along with officials of Patia and Dohazari Highway Police.
