The Crime Desk: Arabi Islam Suba (11) went missing while crossing the road in the capital’s Mohammadpur area. The girl was found two days later in Naogaon. However, the police have not been able to rescue her yet. Police say the girl has been identified. However, due to tactical reasons, she has not been rescued yet. She will be rescued soon.
Adabor Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Zakaria confirmed the matter at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday (February 4).
Suba had earlier come to Dhaka from Barisal two months ago for treatment of her mother suffering from lung cancer.
Police say that CCTV footage shows Suba walking away holding the hand of a boy (20+). Efforts are underway to rescue the girl through information technology based on the boy’s mobile number.
It is learned that Suba left home with her younger cousin at around 6 pm on Sunday (February 2). Then she disappeared while crossing the road. Suba is a sixth-grade student at a school in Barisal.
CCTV footage from the area showed that Suba was seen in front of Tokyo Square in Mohammadpur. However, there was another person there besides Suba’s cousin. Suba was seen walking with him.
Quoting Arabi Islam Suba’s family, Adabor Police Station OC SM Zakaria said that Suba was in a relationship with the boy she was seen with. She left due to that relationship. The girl’s family gave the boy’s mobile number. Efforts are underway to rescue the girl through information technology based on the mobile number.
When asked about the disappearance of her daughter, Suba’s father, Imran Rajib, said, “Suba is in sixth grade at a school in Barisal. I have been staying at my sister’s (Suba’s aunt’s) house in Dhaka for two months for the treatment of his wife’s cancer. Last Sunday evening, Suba went out with her cousin. While crossing the road, my cousin left a little earlier. Later, when he looked back, Suba was not there. I filed a GD at Adabor police station. The police said they are trying.
