Interestingly, Pooja Hegde never wanted to be an actress. She never imagined becoming an actress. Pooja gave this information in an interview given to Indian news agency IANS.
Pooja’s ancestral home is Mangaluru in the state of Karnataka, India. She was born in Mumbai on October 13, 1990. Talking about her family, Pooja Hegde said, “I don’t come from a filmy family. So I never thought that I would become an actress. I also didn’t think that I had any possibility of becoming an actress. Because I come from an academically driven family. You know, both my parents studied law; later they did an MBA.”
Pooja’s brother is a doctor by profession. Referring to this information, Pooja said, “I have completed my master’s in law. My brother is an orthopedic surgeon.”
Pooja is now very happy to be working in films. In her words, “I never thought that I would pursue acting after being born in such a family. Not even when I used to watch films. But I am very happy to be here and do what I love to do. I have a long way to go.”
Explaining her dream of films, Pooja Hegde said, “There are many characters that I like, which I have not done yet. There are many filmmakers with whom I want to work. So I continue working out of love for films.”
Although she had no thoughts of stepping into acting before, Pooja loved dancing and singing since childhood. She used to participate in college dance and fashion shows. She started her career with modeling. She also won the ‘Miss India Talented’ award in 2009.
Pooja entered the acting world with the Tamil language film ‘Mugamudi’ in 2012. After that, she acted in Telugu and Hindi language films. She made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Mohenjo Daro’ in 2016. She acted opposite Hrithik Roshan in it. It was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
Pooja Hegde’s new film is ‘Deba.’. She acted opposite Shahid Kapoor in the film, which is based on the story of the action-thriller genre. Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde, and Pavel Gulati played the lead roles in the film. The film was released in theaters on Friday (January 31).
