The Crime Desk: BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has called for a meeting of the party’s standing committee at 8:30 pm. The meeting will be chaired by Tarique Rahman at the chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Monday (January 6), said BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan. Tarique Rahman will be involved in the meeting virtually.
Party sources said that the meeting is being held today in view of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s medical visit. The party’s policy strategy and new decisions may be discussed in it.
It is worth noting that Begum Khaleda Zia will be taken directly to the air ambulance. Leaders and activists have been advised to reduce the crowd in this regard. However, it could not be confirmed whether senior leaders will go to the airport to bid farewell.
Earlier, after a meeting of the standing committee members with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday night, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that Khaleda Zia is going to London on January 7 for advanced treatment.
