The Crime Desk: An objectionable scene was displayed on the monitor of Kamalapur railway station in the capital late at night on Friday. Passengers present in this incident faced an embarrassing situation. An investigation committee has already been formed to look into the matter.
Confirming the information about the obscene video being displayed on the display of Kamalapur station, Dhaka District Superintendent of Police (Railway) Anwar Hossain told RisingBD, “We had informed the railways in a letter last October that hackers can do this through cyber hacking. Even then, we are investigating who and how this incident happened. A 3-member committee has already been formed in this incident. Action will be taken later based on the committee’s investigation report.”
Passengers waiting at Kamalapur railway station said, “A pornographic movie suddenly appeared on the station monitor at around 2 am. Many passengers were waiting in the station premises at that time. Among them, the passengers waiting with their families were in a more embarrassing situation. At one point, the passengers got excited and vandalized the monitor.
Earlier, such an incident took place on Khulna Railway on December 14. The digital screen of the station showed propaganda about the ousted Awami League, Chhatra League, and Sheikh Hasina. The digital screen showed, ‘Chhatra League will return in a dangerous form again. Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu, and Sheikh Hasina will come again.’ When the matter spread, the leaders and activists of Khulna Metropolitan BNP and the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement came and protested at the station building. They handed over a person named Md. Aslam Hossain Sentu to the police on suspicion of being involved in the incident. A 5-member investigation committee has been formed into the incident.
