Own Correspondent: Police rescued 7-year-old Sayeed Hossain from Lohagara in South Chittagong within 6 hours of his abduction. He was rescued from the Link Road area of Cox’s Bazar around 3 am on Sunday, December 29. 18-year-old Md. Riduan, involved in the abduction incident, has been arrested.
The abducted child is the son of Delwar Hossain of Banshkhalia Para in Amirabad Union of Lohagara Upazila. It is learnt that the abductor Riduan is the son of Ahmed Hossain of the Balukhali area of Ukhia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. A regular case has been registered in this regard at Lohagara Police Station.
According to sources, the abducted child’s father hired Riduan for agricultural work and arranged for him to stay in the house. On Saturday evening of December 28, the servant’s son Riduan left the house with the abducted child on the pretext of having tea at a shop in the area. At one point, he mistook the abducted child for a job in the Cox’s Bazar area.
Unable to find the child and the servant, the householder informed Lohagara Police Station along with a GD. The police immediately took action and, using technology, rescued the kidnapped child from the Link Road area of Cox’s Bazar and arrested the kidnapper. The incident has created a sensation in the area.
