Housewife burnt to death by husband’s octane: 1 arrested

Chandanaish Correspondent: Najma Akhtar (20), a housewife who was burnt to death by her husband’s octane due to a family dispute in Chandanaish, has died. She is the mother of two children. She breathed her last at 3 am last Friday while undergoing treatment at Chamek Hospital, said her elder brother Mohammad Tarek. Tarek became the complainant in the incident and filed a case with Chandanaish Police Station on the night of the incident. Later, the police conducted a raid in the early hours of the morning and arrested the killer husband, Abdul Jabbar, from the Jamizuri hill area of Jangal.

It is learned that Abdul Jabbar’s wife, Najma Akhtar, moved to her father’s house in Ward No. 7 of Hashimpur Union, South Hashimpur Bauliapara village, Ward No. 7, Hashimpur Union, from Jamizuri, her in-laws’ house, a month ago due to a family dispute. Najma was working in the kitchen on Friday. Husband Abdul Jabbar accidentally threw octane he had brought from the back of the kitchen at her and set her on fire. At that time, various parts of her body were burnt in the fire. At that time, locals and family members rescued Nazma and quickly took her to Dohazari Hospital, where the doctor on duty sent her to Chamek Hospital in a critical condition after giving her primary treatment. Doctor on duty at Dohazari Hospital, Dr. Urmi Chakraborty, told reporters that 60 percent of Nazma’s body was burnt. Her face was burnt black. Various parts of her body, including her hands, feet, and respiratory system, were burnt.

Housewife Nazma is the daughter of Selim Uddin of Baulia Para village. Husband Abdul Jabbar is the son of Abdus Salam, alias Abdul, of the Jamizuri area of ​​Dohazari Municipality. They got married socially 5 years ago. They have two children. Abdul Jabbar went to his in-laws’ house and got into a fight with his wife.

Imran Al Hossain, officer-in-charge of Chandanaish Police Station, said that Najma, who was burnt by the fire of octane thrown by her husband, died at Chamek Hospital at 3 am last night. The elder brother of the deceased, Mohammad Tarek, filed a case with Chandanaish Police Station as a plaintiff in the incident. The killer, Abdul Jabbar, was arrested from the Jungle Jamizuri area on Saturday morning and produced before the court.
