Two-day weekly holiday in schools in 2025

The Crime Desk: The Ministry of Education has published the 2025 academic calendar for government and private lower secondary and secondary schools. The academic calendar was published in a notification signed by Mosammat Rahima Akhtar, Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, on Monday. According to the academic calendar, two-day weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday have been retained in educational institutions. In addition, the dates of the half-yearly, pre-election, annual, and election examinations for classes 6 to 10 have been announced.

In 2025, the half-yearly examinations for students of classes 6 to 9 will begin on June 24, which will continue until July 10. At the same time, the pre-election examination will be conducted in class 10. The results of the half-yearly and pre-election examinations will be published by July 27. The election examination for class 10 will begin on October 16. This examination will continue until November 3. At the same time, the curriculum has made it mandatory to publish the results of the selection exams by November 10. The annual exams for classes 6 to 9 in the next academic year will begin on November 20 and will continue until December 7. The results of these exams will have to be published by December 30. Each exam must be completed within 12 working days. According to the curriculum, the academic year 2025 will be from January 1 to December 31. Textbooks will have to be distributed in light of the instructions announced by the government. It has been informed that there will be two days off in a week in government and private secondary schools. It has been said that the weekly holidays are Friday and Saturday. Apart from these holidays, there will be a total of 76 days of holidays in 2025.

The holidays in the published list are The holy Ramadan holidays will start from March 2. Schools will be closed for 28 consecutive days during that time, including Eid-ul-Fitr, Jumatul Bida, Independence Day, and several other holidays. Classes will resume on April 8 after a long holiday. There will also be 15 consecutive days of holidays in government and private schools during Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation. This holiday will start on June 1 and will continue till June 19. This time, 8 days of holiday have been kept for Durga Puja. However, several holidays, including Lakshmi Puja and Fateha-e-Iyas Daham, will fall within this holiday. Like every year, three days of holiday have been reserved for the head of the educational institution. The head of the institution can grant these holidays when necessary. Apart from this, there will be holidays as per the rules for various national and international days and religious rituals.

Some instructions have been given in the published academic calendar regarding taking exams. One of them is that the answer sheets of half-yearly, annual, pre-election, election, and annual exams must be preserved in the educational institution for one year. You can prepare the question papers of your own school exams yourself. Under no circumstances can you take exams on question papers collected from any other source. Moreover, the exam date mentioned in the academic calendar cannot be changed. If you want to change the exam date for special reasons, you must take prior permission from the Ministry of Education. During the SSC exam, classes will continue as usual in schools other than the examination center.
