The Crime Desk: RAB has arrested Md. Sohag, the accused in the murder case of Jasim Uddin, who was killed in a dispute over the garbage business. He was arrested at Laksam police station in the Comilla district on Saturday night. He is the son of Md. Lokman of Chandarpara of Bandar police station in the city.
According to a RAB press release, the deceased Jasim was working as the in-charge of Arman Building in Anandabazar TG Colony, Halishahar. At the same time, he used to collect bottles and plastic items from the garbage depot of Anandabazar Chandarpara City Corporation and sell them elsewhere. Arrested Sohag used to pressure Jasim at various times not to collect the bottles.
In continuation of this, on December 17, after 8 pm, he found Jasim on the paved road at the entrance of TG Colony and stabbed him. Jasim died at 6 pm on December 18. Jasim’s brother filed a case with Bandar Police Station accusing 13 named persons and 10 unknown persons. Sohag is the third accused in the complaint. RAB has handed him over to Bandar Police Station.
