A missing fisherman’s body washed up on Teknaf beach.

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: The body of a fisherman who went missing after his boat capsized in the sea while fishing in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar has been washed up. A day after his disappearance, police recovered the body from Shahparir Dwip Paschimpara beach in Sabrang Union of the upazila on Sunday morning. SI Azaharul Islam, in charge of Shahparir Dwip police outpost, confirmed the matter.

The rescued fisherman is Helal Uddin (27), son of Abul Hossain, a resident of Ward No. 7 of Sabrang Union.

The owner of the boat, Enam Ullah, said that two fishermen went to the sea on Saturday morning with a boat carrying his net to catch fish. At one stage, the boat capsized after being hit by a big wave. Helal Uddin went missing.

SI Azaharul Islam said that Helal Uddin was fishing in a boat in the sea near Shahparir Dwip in Teknaf on Saturday afternoon. At one stage of fishing, he fell off the boat due to a large wave and disappeared. Later, other local fishermen tried to rescue him but they could not. Later, on Sunday morning, Helal Uddin’s body was recovered from the beach in Shahparir Dwip Paschim Para.

He also said that since the family and relatives of the deceased fisherman did not have any complaints in this incident, the body was handed over to them.
