The Crime Desk: The court has rejected the bail application of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari (38), spokesperson of Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote and principal of Pundarik Dham in Hathazari, in a case filed on charges of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh at the Independence Pillar at the city’s New Market intersection.
The court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam passed this order at 12:15 pm on Tuesday (November 26).
The accused’s lawyer, Swarup Kanti Nath, told reporters that a bail application was filed for principal Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari. After the hearing, the court ordered him to be sent to jail.
He said that the lawyers for Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari requested to observe religious customs, provide food according to dietary habits, receive treatment in prison, and be divided in prison. The court granted the three applications after the hearing.
The other accused in the case are Ajay Dutt (34), Leela Raj Das Brahmachari (48), Gopal Das (38), Kathak Das (40), Engineer Amit Dhar (38), Roni Das (38), Rajiv Das (32), Krishna Kumar Dutt (52), Jiku Chowdhury (40), Newton Dey (38), Tushar Chakraborty (28), Mithun Dey (35), Roop Dhar (35), Rimon Dutt (28), Sukanta Das (28), Biswajit Gupta (42), Rajesh Chowdhury (28), Hridoy Das (25).
Earlier, on Monday (November 25) afternoon, members of the Bangladesh Police’s Specialized Detective Branch (DB) arrested Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari from Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport.
Today, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari (38), spokesperson of the Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote and principal of Pundarik Dham in Hathazari, Chittagong, was physically presented in the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Kazi Shariful Islam at 10:50 am.
