Own Correspondent: It has been reported that two women were seriously injured in Lohagara, South Chittagong, due to the brutal injuries of the robbers’ sharp weapons. The robber took gold ornaments and cash. The incident took place in the early morning of Thursday, November 14, in Swapan Dar’s house in Mangalnagar area of West Amirabad village of the upazila.
According to the locals, a miscreant named Anisul Islam Sumon from the surrounding area has caused this incident. Homemaker Lipi Dhar (50) and her daughter Priya Dhar (24) were seriously injured by sharp weapons. Both were reportedly injured in the head by the miscreant’s sharp weapon. After the incident, the injured were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital after first treatment at Upazila Health Complex. Local member Hoshain Md. Sharpu confirmed the incident.
On the other hand, 4 persons were arrested along with sharp weapons, stolen mobile phones, and drugs in Haji Para (Butcher’s Quarter) of the Barahatia Union of Lohagara Upazila. The operation was conducted on Wednesday, November 13 last afternoon. In this operation, 10 stolen mobile sets, 12 sharp weapons, ganja, yaba, coil paper, and domestic liquor were arrested, and 4 people were arrested.
Among those detained are Kamal Uddin (40), Ershad (21) of Barahatia Union, Mohammad Hossain (40) of Boyalia Para of neighboring Satkania Upazila, and Aminul Islam (45) of Sonakania Union. It is said that two separate cases have been filed against the detainees at Lohagara police station.
